Hristo Botev

Stadium Hristo Botev is located near the center of the city Plovdiv, right next to the famous beer factory of the city. It's actual capacity is for 22 000 people. The stadium is opened in 1961 with a game with Steaua Bucurest, won 3-0 by Botev. Only the VIP stand of the stadium is covered. The most famous stand is "Tribuna Iztok" - or "East Stand". The biggest fans of Botev are situated there. The stadium is nicknamed "The College", because before it was build, there were the playgrounds of the unexisting French College. The record for biggest attendance for a single match is the Cup Winners' Cup Quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid - 40 000 people watch the game, which ended 1:1.

Botev Plovdiv has played a lot of big games in the biggest stadium in the city - stadium "Plovdiv", called "September 9th" until 1990's. The two-leveled stadium is the biggest stadium in Bulgaria and one of the biggest on the Balkans. Stadium "Plovdiv" has a capacity of 55 000 seats. Because of a long-unfinished reconstruction it is not used these days. Stadium "Plovdiv" hosted some of the biggest games, Botev has ever played - the wins against Barcelona (1:0), Bayern Munich(2:0) and a lot of national and local derbies against Levski, CSKA and Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Plans for rebuilding a brand new stadium on the same location were announced in the winter of 2012. The construction of the new marvel in the center of Plovdiv will start in the spring of 2012, and is supposed to be finished in 2014.
